Brisbane Roar Expands Youth Program Across Queensland Through Government Partnership

Brisbane Roar FC has become a focal point for youth sports development through its expanded community football program. The partnership with the Queensland Government, formed in late 2024, targets broad participation across Queensland.

Football in the Community Scale

The 'Football in the Community' program plans more than 10,000 young Queenslanders to take part via 270 clinics and outreach activities during 2025. Brisbane Roar FC delivers these sessions in coordination with Football Queensland, focusing on accessible entry points for juniors.

Complementary Youth Programs

Alongside the Roar initiative, the 'Take it to the Streets' program operates in Brisbane's north. It supplies free training in 3x3 basketball, soccer, pickleball, Boxfit and Esports for participants aged 13-18, with over 130 young people engaged to date. The Youth Development Partnership Fund also backs Brisbane Broncos work with at-risk youth in the Darling Downs, linking sport to support services and mental health resources.

Pathway Events in Brisbane

Brisbane hosted the World Breaking DanceSport Festival in January 2026, where youth categories provided ranking points toward qualification for the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026. The city has additionally staged the Asia Pacific Youth Touch Cup and the AIS Next Wave Invival, giving junior athletes in swimming, netball and artistic swimming exposure ahead of Brisbane 2032.
