Brisbane Winter Offers Whale Watching and Outdoor Adventures in Mild Weather

Brisbane’s winter low season brings mild temperatures and clear skies that make humpback whale watching via the Tangalooma Day Cruise a top draw between June and September.

The window matters now because July sits inside the June-August stretch when low humidity supports extended time outside without the afternoon storms common from November to February.

Outdoor options on land and water

Residents turn to hiking Mt Coot-tha, kayaking the Brisbane River, rock climbing at Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the Story Bridge Adventure Climb when skies stay clear. These routes stay accessible through the cooler months and avoid the higher feels-like temperatures that reach 35°C in summer.
